Past

As a teen, life in suburban Montreal took a drastic turn for the better when Graham traded Steve Miller's Fly Like an Eagle album (and $11) for a used guitar. An entire wonderful world opened up. He hasn't looked back since.

He started writing and recording songs almost immediately, starting with primitive reel to reel to cassettes to basic four track recorders. He was fascinated with the creative process of writing music and lyrics as well as with producing. His early songs weren't great by any means but honestly reflected his fifteen year old mind. He still has almost all of those early recordings, now digitised from forty year old cassettes.

His first paid gig was in the Student Union Building at the University of New Brunswick. It didn't go well.

In the mid-80s, he moved back to Montreal and was the house musician at Coyote's on Bishop Street, playing four hour solo gigs on Fridays and Saturdays.

For the last thirty years, he performed in Hong Kong as part of some great bands, including Squinty Backbone, the Tai Toh Has, Tunnel Vision, the Three Guys, Dusky Sounds, the Vultures and Redwing.

Graham also composed music in partnership with Hong Kong based lyricist and playwright Brian Mulcahy.

He continued to perform in Hong Kong as part of the Vultures and Redwing until Covid changed things and live music took a break for a while.

Present

In 2021, Graham moved to Kingston, Ontario to begin a new chapter in life. He plays with the band the Retro Kings and is currently working on a number of musical projects.
